Welcome! So glad you made it. Come, make yourself at home. 🙂

I’m Aleš, and if you’re having trouble pronouncing that, I won’t even tell you my last name. I live in the vicinity of Maribor, the second biggest city in Slovenia. I am a master of no particular trade, but several interest me and I would like to share some of them with you on the pages you have just stumbled upon.

As the name suggests, cycling has been a big part of my life for the last couple of years and I’m planning some longer trips around my home country and abroad. Hopefully I’ll be able to bring you reports of those, as well as occasional gear reviews and glimpses from the road. Hiking is my other big outdoor passion and since they usually go well together, I think there’s no harm in throwing some of that in as well.

My pride and joy is a 2016 Specialized Diverge Elite. More on her in this post here.

Profesionally I am in the process of obtaining my diploma in tourism management. I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to work in a couple of truly amazing hotels and there might be glimpses of that as well. My dream would obviously be to couple my hobbies and professional life in some way.

When not doing any of the above, I am also a volunteer firefighter at my local brigade, I waste my time playing videogames and read Sci-fi and fantasy books here and there.

Ulitimately, I would like this blog to be my space to share my thoughts with the world, connect with like-minded people and enjoy the surprises brought on by life. Feel free to check back for new content, comment and help me spread the word. I will be forever thankful. 🙂

    1. Thanks, will do. 🙂 And don’t worry about the spelling, English alphabet doesn’t use the same characters as Slovenian does. Can get a bit tricky, but that’s half the fun, right? 🙂
It’s essentially an “sh”, with the A being accented, so it’s a bit like Aah-lesh. Sounds funny explained like that. 🙂

    1. Hey Nick, thanks for stopping by. 🙂
A trip to lake Bled and the surrounding area sounds like a great idea to do this coming spring. It might just happen, so stick around and if you get the chance, visit Bled again to see what’s new. 😉
